Didn't enjoy it much so 3 stars for sailing and 5 stars for wind. Got there too early near high tide watched some monster waves crash against the steps.
Chat to Pete/Sally as to next move cos Maker made it out from the golf kite end. Pete parked at the Golf end which was flatter and look to be having a reasonable sail, whilst I rigged 6.7 Hellcat - definitely not designed for the big sea.
Had to wait till tide went lower to launch and sea wasn't too bad but struggled on the Fanatic 105 Freewave which was very skittish and travelling miles too quick (forgot my GPS).
Fell in every gybe with a couple of boom and my head on the board nose, lucky no damage to the board. The sea was a bit big although waves was OK coming.
Got tired very quick after so many dunkings, so packed up at 5 when the sea was flattest and at its best!
Never got settled on the big sea, and the wave board is a bit quick with the slalom sail - def mustn't use too big a sail on it. Bad day in the office.
Pete Chris Squiz Maker Phil Peter an Mike all looked to be having a good sail
Got too cold to carry on so had a very long session in the sauna. Think I am doing too much gym as getting knackered far too quick windsurfing recently.
Still experimenting with straps position and boom height to get in my comfort zone. Don't really like the stand up style of inboard straps with a slalom sail as no leverage to keep hold on the gusts. Tried MFoot back but much too skittish and tail walking with the 6.7 sail. Moved it forward which was better. Think I will move the straps to the slalom position and go back to sit down style - cant do much worse than today.
The North shoxs met its match today with the suspension bottoming out several times making me very jumpy thinking something will break.
